Hello, 2nd post Today before it got dark I did an engine compression test real quick. MGB 1976 - 27070mi on rebuilt - recently adjusted valves, cold @ 0.15 - measured on warm engine with air filter on - measured with 6 strokes on ignition (5sec) Checked the compression in the cylinders. Took plugs out and checked each cylinder in line and wrote down the readings (i mistakenly noted bar rather than the psi reading) – when converted the readings are about 180psi which represents 10:1 compression ratio which is good and quite high. I carried out a compression test this morning and here are the results: working from the gearbox side to the cam belt side: 12.1 bar 13.0 bar 13.0 bar 14.0 bar two slightly problematic cylinders. the 12.1 is a bit low but looked dry inside.
